Olive Branch International
Professor Richard Stiliha is a retired U.S Army Chaplain who lives in Clearwater , Florida with his wife Ruth. He currently serves as Director of Education with Olive Branch International, a humanitarian organization that seeks to strengthen the quality of life for military families throughout the world.
Dr. Stiliha returned recently from a trip to Sri Lanka where continued open doors present themselves both with the military Christian community and the military community. Sri Lanka is a country still in war with the Tamil Tigers of the north who are fighting for rights to establish their own country within Sri Lanka .
Among his long range goals for Sri Lanka is the desire to positively influence the leadership of the Sri Lankan military through training and support that emphasizes caring and compassion and the maintaining of high ethical practices in dealing with military personnel. We also was to assist in the growth and development of Military Christian Fellowship in Sri Lanka in anyway possible.
We include the spouses of military members in our training. The training includes basic counseling, dealing with the stress of deployments, and building successful community organizations.
Chaplain Stiliha has participated in numerous military conferences in Russia and the Ukraine with a focus on suicide prevention and identifying soldier problems. He also conducts counseling skills seminars internationally for pastors, missionaries and military organizations.
